Derrick Rose

In 2008, the Chicago Bulls, with a 1.7% chance, landed the number one pick in the NBA draft which, in turn, they used on eventual Rookie of the Year and MVP, Derrick Rose. In two years, Derrick Rose elevated himself to signature status and got his own shoe.

The adiZero Rose 1 launched in 2010 at Footlocker with a mega TV campaign starring Ken Jeong of The Hangover. D Rose's line started out under the adiZero family, lightest shoes in the game, and splintered off into its own brand in 2013.

The D Rose 3 marked the introduction of D Roses' own sub brand within adidas basketball, the first athlete to do that in a major way since Tracy McGrady and Kobe Bryant before him. Despite being plagued by injury, the D Rose line quickly became a top four signature line within the basketball space in a year and continues to be the No. 1 adidas signature shoe in international markets today.
